Care, Compassion and Commitment

About

Holders Hill Veterinary Surgery was established in September 2003 by Phil Barr & Tony White from Wood Street Vet Hospital in Barnet

The surgery is fully equipped for everyday operations, with a small kennel area for cats, dogs, and small pets, anaesthetic and monitoring equipment, and both dental and surgical facilities.

We can carry out the majority of procedures at the Holders Hill Surgery, with the full facilities of our main hospital as backup for more complex problems or those who need overnight care.

All of our vets  work at our main hospital for part of their week,  which means that even when your pets need to be referred to the main hospital for more complex investigations or tests, you and your pet can still deal with a vet you know.

Our animal ambulance is based in Barnet at Wood Street Veterinary Hospital to assist our clients with transport and can provide a medication and food delivery service if required.

The surgery consists of a large bright reception area, consulting room, accommodation for inpatients and an operating theatre. We only use the safest anaesthetics and monitoring equipment to ensure the safety of your pet.
There is also laboratory equipment to run in-house tests to ensure we have your pet's results quickly, while more complex tests may be sent to Wood Street Veterinary Hospital or to an external laboratory.

There is usually easy parking in the parade in front of the surgery, and we also provide parking spaces at the rear of the surgery to make your visit easier.

Out of hours emergencies at night or weekends are seen at Wood Street Veterinary Hospital by prior arrangement. For your convenience, our phone line gets automatically diverted to the Hospital when we are closed so you do not have to find another phone number to call.  As our computer systems are linked, the duty vet and nurse at the Hospital have all of your pet’s records available to help ensure the best advice and treatment.

The close links the practice has with the RSPCA has always been a source of great pride for us.  Helping  charities care for animals in need provides us with a real sense of achievement.  Links with Wood Green animal centre, the Cats Protection League and the C4 cat neutering scheme, means that this charity work is part of the everyday work in our surgeries.

Your Visit

Our friendly reception team will greet you and ensure you and your pets' contact details are up to date.

You will then be seen by one of our vets who will examine your pet in one of our fully equipped consulting rooms.

If your pet requires more in depth treatment we may wish to admit them to the hospital. We have comfortable (& separate!) accommodation both for dogs and for cats, as well as a separate area where pets who may have an infectious disease can be kept away from others.

Please see the facilities sections for more information on the services we can offer you and your pets, should you need them.
